Dress Codes
Our dress codes are designed to support developmentally appropriate training, healthy alignment, freedom of movement, and a culture of pride, excellence, and joy within the studio. Our approach reflects the evolving standards of today’s leading ballet training institutions, which strive to preserve the rigor, artistry, and traditions of classical ballet while cultivating an inclusive, supportive environment in which every dancer can thrive.
Dancers should arrive prepared for all classes each day.

~ The Pre-Professional Track ~
This division represents a meaningful transition into more immersive classical training. Dancers are invited to deepen their technical precision, artistic understanding, musicality, and personal responsibility within a supportive, anatomy-informed environment. Expanded training is paired with richer performance opportunities, fostering confident, versatile, and expressive artists.
*Warm-up Layers may be worn at the beginning of class when it is cold out. These should be removed by mid-barre for ballet class, or earlier at the instructor’s request. Warm-ups should be fitted and allow instructors to clearly see the dancer’s core alignment—including the spine and pelvis—as well as the ankles and feet.
*Tights and dancewear should be clean and in good condition, without large holes, runs, or tears that compromise coverage. Small holes or minor wear are acceptable as long as the garment remains appropriate for class.
*No heavy or excessive jewelry is permitted in class. This includes dangling earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, and other jewelry that may interfere with movement or present a safety concern.
*Hair must be secured neatly away from the face and styled so that it remains secure throughout class.
*Dance shoes should be properly fitted and maintained. Outdoor shoes may not be worn on studio dance floors.
*Rehearsal skirts appropriate to an assigned role may be worn during rehearsals. For example, long skirts may be worn when rehearsing choreography performed in a long skirt, and shorter skirts for choreography performed in a shorter skirt.
*Saturdays are free dress days. Dancers may wear leotards and tights in any color of their choice while continuing to follow all other class dress requirements.
*Performance, rehearsal, or specialty classes may have additional dress requirements. Dancers should come prepared with any requested shoes, skirts, character wear, or other class-specific items.
